5 – Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes, and Cream
About a decade ago, my friends and I were cooking for Thanksgiving. He gave me this recipe and my family has been in his debt ever since. Salt some water in a pot and then bring it to a boil. Add pasta to the boiling water and then cook it for 10 minutes.
Drain the pasta after it’s well-cooked. Add oil to a large skillet and then heat it on medium. Cover sausages in pepper flakes and then cook until they turn into a savory brown color. Add some garlic and onion for extra flavor.
Once the onions are tender, add some tomatoes, salt, and cream. Simmer for another 10 minutes until the mixture becomes thicker. Add the sauce to the pasta, mix well, and then add some parsley on top. It might seem unorthodox to have tomatoes and cream in the same recipe, but I guarantee that once you taste this dish you’ll be coming up with reasons to cook it.
