4. Turkey Avocado and Bacon Grilled Cheese
Doesn’t the title of this recipe get your taste buds salivating with excitement? Avocado, bacon, and cheese are one of our all-time favorite grilled cheese recipes – but the addition of leftover turkey makes this a real gourmet treat. You’ll be dreaming of these lunchtime sandwiches for the entire morning after you’re done reading this recipe.
INGREDIENTS
2-slices leftover turkey breast or stripped dark meat.
3-slices honey smoked back bacon.
1-tablespoon grass-fed butter.
2-slices whole-wheat or rye bread.
½-avocado, sliced.
1-slice Emmental cheese.
1-slice cheddar cheese.
METHOD
Place a skillet over high heat, add the bacon and the oil, cook until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain the fat from the skillet. Butter the bread and on the non-buttered side, add the turkey along with the cheese, bacon, and sliced avocado. Close up the sandwich with another piece of bread – butter side facing up.
Heat the skillet and place the sandwich on the skillet. Cook each side for 3 to 4-minutes until the bread turns golden brown, and the cheese melts. Remove from the pan, slice in half and serve with a side salad.
